Have you just purchased or inherited an older piano? (I also tune newer pianos.)

-- Not sure when it was tuned last?

-- Most piano tuners only want to tune Steinways and newer pianos because they're easier to tune. But I specialize in tuning older, more fragile pianos which have not been tuned in quite a while and bringing them up to pitch, i.e., A440 Concert Pitch. This is known as a "Pitch Raise."

Some pianos have not been tuned in decades and need the sure, gentle touch of an experienced tuner who understands what these pianos need.

Many tuners will claim that these pianos need "several visits" before the piano can be brought up to pitch, and they charge you a full tuning fee for each visit. That can sure add up!

I take care of the Pitch Raise in one 3 to 5 hour session (instead of keeping on coming back over and over again).

While it's true that during that 5-hour session, for technical reasons, the piano may have to be tuned as many as four times, I will not charge you for four tunings. I charge a flat fee. $100 for regular tuning, pitch raise an additional $50 so $150 will be the total bill.

You'll find it's more cost effective to have me come and do the job once, and do it right.

I trained with Samuel Holzkenner of Holzkenner Pianocraft. I have 21 years' experience.

By the way, I also tune newer pianos -- all makes and models.

I also do piano evaluations. For $75, you get a written checklist of the condition of the interior of the piano, so you really know what's going on, plus an estimate approximately of how much work the piano needs.
